Weight loss benefits of salmon

One of the key essentials in weight loss is to eat the right food at the right time. This means that you need to eat food with calories just needed by the body for the specified period. A low-calorie and yet nutritious food that you can eat is the salmon. Not only it is a low calorie meal, it also aids your body in detoxification. The secret? The omega-3 fatty acids that it contains help very well in losing weight!

Aside from the weight loss benefits of salmon, it also lowers your risks of hypertension, heart disease and memory loss. With the anti-aging character of salmon, it is not surprising that several health experts and other authorities in the field of health and weight loss recommend salmon very much.

But aside from grilled salmon, what else can you experiment on cooking salmon? Here is a very delicious and aromatic salmon recipe- the dilled salmon steaks.

4 salmon steaks (about 1/2 lb. each)
2 Tablespoons olive oil
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 cup lemon juice
3 Tablespoons fresh chopped dill, or 2 teaspoons dried dill weed
1/8 teaspoon white pepper

Here is how to do dilled salmon steaks.

Find a 9"X 13" glass baking dish and place the salmon steaks in it. Meanwhile, in a small bowl, stir the lemon juice, oil, dill, salt and pepper together. After blending them well, pour the sauce on both sides of the salmon and make sure that they are coated well. Find an aluminum foil or plastic wrap and chill for up to four hours. When ready to cook, place salmon on a greased, foil lined grill and cook for 30 minutes or until done on medium-low heat. To add a twist, serve with a side salad and boiled new potatoes. Dilled salmon steaks are very aromatic because of the dill weed you included with the recipe.
