Christmas is here! One of the most exciting things that we do after attending the Simbang Gabi at the Philippines is to look for the traditional kakanin , puto bongbong, kutsinta, and palitaw!
Filipinos have the tradition to make an early dawn mass days before Christmas, this is called simbang gabi. But aside from the solemnity of the occasion, Filipinos give the patience to fall in line for the hot and delicious puto bongbong with grated coconut!
Watch out for the recipes here at Pinoy Food Taste and you will never need to fall in a long line again! Rice cakes such as palitaw and kutsinta is one of the native dishes you can try cooking at home.
